Bio
Mrs Mary Mager, wife of Frank Mager, living four and a half miles east of Crete died Monday evening at 10 o'clock. The funeral services were held at the Catholic church Thursday morning at 10am and the remains laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery. A husband and one child, a mother and father, three brothers and two sisters remain to mourn her untimely death. From a happy and robust young girl, the deceased was married and buried in less than one short year. Driving home from their marriage ceremony with her young husband on Jan 14, 1908, they were intercepted by friends who stretched a rope across the road to bar their progress and obtain money for the purpose of celebrating the wedding. The horses became frightened and ran away upsetting the buggy and the injuries received in this accident are the direct cause of the death of the deceased . A bright and healthy baby daughter was born on Dec 24, 1908, following which the mother declined rapidly. It is a sad tale that we sorrow much in reporting and join with the entire community in extending condolence to the aggrieved husband and sorrowing parents.
