MSGT, US ARMY AIR FORCES WORLD WAR II ∼ THE VILLAGES — Orville Leroy Tallman, 96, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013. Mr. Tallman was born in Plymouth, IN. He moved to Florida from Shavehead Lake, MI, when he was 89, and married his high school sweetheart, Wilma, who was already living in The Villages. Both were very active in their church. He loved music, especially opera, and played the violin during his youth. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He had his own appliance-sales business called Radio Ave. He lived on Shavehead Lake for 50 years. He loved the water and his flower gardens. Survivors include his brother, Virgil Tallman; his wife, Wilma; and stepdaughters Colleen Brooks and Shannon Jensen. A memorial service for family and friends was held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 14, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Arrangements are by Beyers Funeral Home and Crematory, Lady Lake. He was born in Plymouth, Indiana, moved to Florida from Shavehead Lake, MI when he was 89, and married his high school sweetheart, Wilma, who was already living in the Villages. Both were very active in their church and loved all their members. He loved music, especially the Opera & played the violin in school. Orville was a World War II Army veteran with the Fighter Bomber Group 27 & still kept in touch with 2 of his buddies from the group. He had his own business of selling appliances called Radio Ave & was very successful. He lived on Shavehead Lake in Michigan for 50 years. He loved the water, his flower gardens & most of all his family & the great friends he made at the lake. Survivors include his brother Virgil & Lannette Tallman, his wife Wilma, and his 2 step daughters Colleen Brooks & Shannon Jensen. A memorial service for family & friends was held at their church, "The Church of Jesus Christ", on Monday, January 14, 2013 at 11 am.
