Otto w. Elrod, 67, died in a Grand Island hospital, Tuesday morning, following a week's illness. Mr. ELrod was born June 20, 1879 to Font and Rosann Elrod, in York County. He was married to Iva Frazey, February 24, 1904 at York. Five sons and one daughter were born to them. Mr. and Mrs. Elrod lived on a farm in York County until 1917, when they moved to Sherman county. They moved to Grand Island in 1940. Mr. Elrod was a member of the Methodist church in Litchfield. Survivors include his wife, five sons, Floyd, Kenneth and Clarence of Grand Island; Cecil of Loup City, and Orval of Waco; one daughter, Mrs. Arnold Palmgren of Baltimore, Md.; four brothers, Joseph of York; Samuel of Cheyenne Wyo.; Charles of Glendale, California; and Ray of Madrid; two sisters, Mrs. Lulu Pierce of York, and Mrs. Charles Hawley of Litchfield; eleven grandchildren and other relatives. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the Geddes Funeral Home in Grand Island and at 3:30 at the Metz Funeral Home at York. Methodist ministers conducted both services. Interment was in the York cemetery. Six nephews acted as pallbearers: Frank Hawley, Smery Hawley of Litchfield; Clifford Hawley of Hazard; Roy Elrod and Donald Elrod of Grand Island and Clyde Pierce of Oxford, Nebr. Out of town relatives attending services were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hawley, Litchfield; Mrs. Arnold Palmgren, Baltimore, Md.; S.S. Elrod and Henry Wilson of Cheyenne, Wyo.; Mrs. Lucille Eastabrook, Lincoln, Nebr.; Ray Elrod of Madrid, Nebr.; Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Criss, Arcadia, Nebr.; Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Pierce and Mr. and Mrs. Max Dierce of Oxford, Nebr.; Mr. and Mrs. Archie Fugate of North Platte.
