Bio
On Aug.9, 2013, Erma Monroe, 86, passed from this earth. Erma was born in Greenville, TX to Levi and Laura Ethridge on Sept. 8, 1926. She married Edgar D. Monroe on July 24, 1952 in Brownfield. They made their home in Malakoff, where she still lived. She is survived by: her daughters, Linda Cope, Lori Partin and husband Al; sons Mike Monroe and wife Barbara, Todd Monroe and wife Dawn; grandchildren Kendall Sparks, Clayton Sparks, Jeffrey Callaway, Mandy Burkhalter, Christi Spiva, Heather Monroe, Alex Monroe, Kourtney Monroe; great-grandchildren Kassy Hounchell, Ashlee Mills, Jaxen Callaway, Matthew Rodriguez, Macie Maestas, Dalton Burkhalter, Savannah Burkhalter, Jaci Spiva, Emily Spiva, Triniti Hutchison. Her legacy continues with three great-great-grandchildren Jonathan Hernandez, Ochenne Hernandez, and Zayne Hernandez. Erma is preceded in death by her parents Levi and Laura Ethridge, her husband Edgar D. Monroe, seven brothers, one sister and one daughter. Interment will follow in the Malakoff Cemetery.
