Bio

Bruce Hunter, 63, died suddenly Sunday morning on a train near Los Angeles, California, while en route home. Mrs. Hunter was notified Sunday afternoon. He had been in ill health for the past three months but had improved sufficiently to begin the trip home. Mr. Hunter was born in Kansas on January 6, 1883. He and Mrs. Hunter came to York five years ago last fall to make their home and have since been engaged in the operation of an apartment house. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Josie Bell Hunter, York; four sons, Dr. Kenneth Hunter, Lebo, Kansas, K.W. Hunter, Wichita, Kansas, Dright Hunter, Hamilton Field, Califonia, and Paul Hunter, San Diego, California; two daughters, Mrs. Charles Doyle, Wichita, and Mrs. Hilma Brooks, Belle Plaine, Kansas, and one sister, Mrs. J.D. Workman, Denver, Colorado. The body will be returned to York for burial, but funeral arrangements have not been completed. (Published in The York Daily News-Times, Monday, March 25, 1946, Page 4.)
