Bio

Joseph Rezac, 89, died Sunday, January 31, at Memorial Hospital at Sidney. He had been in ailing health for the past two years. Mr. Rezac was born on July 5, 1875 [sic], to Mr. and Mrs. John Rezac in Butler County, Nebraska. He Was married in September 1898 to Anna Bobek in David City. The family lived in Seward County from 1905 and moved to Chevenne County in 1928 where he farmed. He had retired as a farmer and lived in Sidney. Survivors are two sons, William and James of Sidney and two daughters, Mrs. K. O. (Rose) Zavadil of Lincoln and Adeline Rezac of Sidney, nine grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife and two daughters. Services were held in the Gehring and Son Funeral Home in Sidney Wednesday February 3, with Rev. John Stayton of the First Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery at Sidney.
