Welcom Gene Wood December 19, 1957 — July 16, 2025 Welcom Gene Wood, born on December 19, 1957 to Homer Wood and Lorene Combs in Sulphur Springs, Texas, passed away July 16, 2025. Welcom attended Miller Grove and Rains schools. He married Sandra Tadlock Wood and worked for the road and bridge department in Rains County as well as a butcher at Tawakoni Grocery. Welcom enjoyed hunting fishing and was a true outdoorsman. There will be a small gathering at 2pm for family and friends at Smyrna Cemetery. His cremains will be placed with his wife, Sandra.
