He was born on July 25, 1928, in Los Angeles, California, the son of Virginia "Jewell" (Coonfield) and George Lee Savage. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jaenene Lilac (King) on January 6, 1997. Survivors include his two daughters, Brenda Williams of Virginia and Sandy Lynn Lightfield of Montana; and two sons, Randy Savage and Tom Savage of New Mexico; step-children, Darla Jean (Hughes) Pike of Texas, Jennifer Lynn (Hughes) Wendt-Burgress of Colorado, Mona Lee (Hughes-Savage) Allen-Juve of New Mexico, and Dwight Hughes of North Dakota; 16 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
