Herbert Woodrow (Snooze) Edmondson died Friday in the Methodist Hospital in Lubbock. Funeral services were at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Howard Quiett, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment was in Quanah Memorial Park under the direction of Knowles Funeral Home. Mr. Edmondson was born in Quanah where he married the former Natalie Elton in 1936. He was a member of the Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife Natalie, two daughters, son Wayne Edmondson of Dallas, three brothers, five sisters and two grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Texas Highway Department. He had been with the Department for 37 years, working in Childress and Memphis, before returning to Quanah in 1961 to become the maintenance supervisor for Hardeman and Foard counties. He was an active sports fan, a long-time member of the Quanah Sports Club, and served as umpire for Quanah's Kid League baseball program for a number of years. ~~ Published in the Quanah Tribune-Chief , Quanah, Texas, Thurs., Dec. 19, 1974, p.8, col.1 (edited)
