Bio

Willie Bryant Driska, 83, of Waco, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2013. Graveside services with full military honors will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 3, at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, August 2, at Oakcrest Funeral Home. Willie was born in Holland, Texas, to the late Willie John Driska and Loyce Bryant Driska. He attended school in Granger, Texas. In October of 1946, he joined the U.S. Army Air Corps. Willie served 21 years, retiring in August 1967. He married Ella Marie Stasny in Taylor, Texas on May 8, 1953. They were married for 60 years. After retiring from the military service he worked as a butcher for Piggly Wiggly Grocery. In 1979, Willie began working for the V.A. Regional Office until his retirement in 1992. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved to garden and go camping. Willie was a devoted Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys fan. He was preceded in death by his oldest daughter, Doris Jean Driska; brothers, Robert Driska and James May; and sisters, Geraldine Driska and Betty Ann Bailey. He is survived by his wife, Ella Marie; daughter, Rosanne Glinski, of Temple; sons, Willie Bryant Driska II, of Waco, and Frank Driska and wife, Theresa, of Rockwall; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Betty Belcher, of Waco; sisters, Kay Love and husband, Gene, of Moody, and Nelda Smith and husband, Tom, of Waco; and several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
