Bio

Son of William Frank & Alice Christina (Kenaston) Powell Nolan D. Powell, 81, of Prosser died Tuesday at Prosser Memorial Long Term Care. Mr. Powell was born in Gregory, S.D. In 1947, he and two of his brothers took over and ran the farm they were raised on in South Dakota. In 1952, the farm was sold and he moved to Long Beach, Calif., and he worked at McDonald-Douglas Aircraft until retiring after 30 years. In 1982, he moved to Benton City, and in 1984 he moved to Prosser. Survivors include three daughters, Geraldine Sloan of California, Diane Wendt of Antioch, Calif., and Karen Powell of Prosser; a brother, Vernon James Powell of Lakewood, Calif.; a sister, Velma Hall of Rogers, Ark.; and six grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Prosser Church of God. Prosser Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
