Funeral services for Mrs. Hattie R. Whitcomb, who died Monday at her home, are being held up pending word from her husband, Reuben Whitcomb, who left the home Friday and has not been seen since. According to relatives Whitcomb disappeared the day before his wife became critically ill. Police said they had not yet been called on the case and knew of no organized attempt to locate the missing man. ~~~ 46-year-old Mattie [note spelling] R. Whitcomb was interred, per the Chico Cemetery Association Records, in the plot noted, on January 31, 1931. There is no marker.
