Bio

Mary (Marika) was the daughter of Bill and Catherine Matragos Athanassakis of Argos, Greece. They immigrated to the US in about 1912 according to census data. Mary married Theo Avlos (Avlogitos) in June of 1915 in Dallas, Dallas Co., TX. They completed their family (3 girls and 3 boys) in TX and were in McAlester, Pittsburg Co., OK by 1930. By 1936 they were in Ft. Smith, where Theo owned and operated the Wide Awake Restaurant. Mary was nicknamed Mimi and loved to cook and dance.
