Isaac Newton "Ike" Warrick, 74 December 8, 1879 ~ June 8, 1954 Isaac Newton was born December 8, 1879 in Iowa to Abner and Sarah Jane (Brown) Warrick. He soon preferred going by the nickname "Ike" On December 6, 1904 he was married in Harrison County, Iowa to Dora Frances Dean. Ike Warrick was a short, medium built, brown haired, brown eyed traveling salesman when at age 38 he filled out his WWI draft card. At that time, he and his wife, Dora Frances, lived at 400 W. South St. in Blair, NE. Earlier they had lived in Iowa, where their oldest daughter, Grace was born, and were in South Dakota at the time of the birth of their 2nd child, Irene M. They also were blessed by another daughter, Blandina. The rest of their children (that we know about) were both born in Nebraska: Marvin N was listed as 3 10/12 years of age--nearly 4--at the time of the 1920 Census. He died at age six, and is buried near his parents in the Blair, Nebraska Cemetery. The last daughter, Mary F, was not quite 1 year old at the time of the 1920 Census. Isaac was sometimes known as Ike, and that is what is listed on the 1910 Census. In 1910, Ike and Dora and their 3 children lived in Taylor, Harrison County, Iowa. Ike was a salesman at a general store, earning wages to help pay the rent on the house and support his growing family. He filled out the draft card for WWI (he was 38 at the time), and by then he was living in Blair, working as a Commercial Traveler for the Council Bluffs Remedy Co (based at 18th & Broadway in Council Bluffs, Iowa. By the time of the 1920 Census, he listed his occupation as being an independent commercial salesman for "stock food". Ike Warrick passed away June 8, 1954.
