Roy Thomas Brack, age 93, of Farmington passed away early on Monday, July 22, 2013 at his home. Roy was born on April 12, 1920 in Commerce, Texas the son of William Thomas Brack and Lilly Mae Morgan Brack. Roy lived on a farm until his family moved to Farmington in 1937. Roy volunteered for the United States Army in 1941 and served in World War II in the South Pacific with the Amphibious Engineers. Roy was proud to have served his country. Roy was a welder by trade and worked on many projects in the western United States.Roy was involved in art and jewelry classes at the Farmington Senior Center. Roy was a member of Mountain Vista Baptist Church and loved the church and its members. A painting of the new building hangs in the foyer. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, W.T. and Lilly Mae Brack, five brothers and three sisters. Roy leaves behind his wife Norma Brack, sons, Steve Rose and Donald (Rebecca) Rose, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Peggy and Bob Easterling, nieces, Louise (Chuck) Jiles, Nancy (Al) Harvick and Judy (Tim) Restad, other nieces and nephews that reside in other areas, two grandchildren, Andromeda and Orion Rose and many dear friends. Visitation is today, Thursday, July 25, 2013 from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 East Ute St. Funeral services will be on Friday, July 26, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Mountain Vista Baptist Church, 4401 Wildflower Mesa Drive in Farmington with Reverend John Preston and Charles McGee officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 6917 East Main St. with full military honors conducted by VFW Post #2182 of Farmington. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to all relatives and friends who were so kind and supportive during this time. Your kindness will always be remembered.
