Lorraine Groteluschen, 87, of Creston, Nebraska, died Saturday, July 20, 2013, at the Columbus Community Hospital. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 25 at 10:30 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Columbus with Rev. Brad Birtell officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery (12.5 miles North) rural Columbus. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Gass Haney Funeral Home and continue on Thursday from 9:30 AM until service time at the church. There will be a family prayer service on Thursday at 10:15 AM at the church. Memorials are to be directed to the St. John's Lutheran Church, Creston Rescue Unit, or those of the family choice. Lorraine Groteluschen was born December 29, 1925, in Colfax County, Nebraska, to Vincent and Julia (Maliha) Fendrick. She attended rural Colfax County grade school. She worked in a café in Schuyler, Nebraska. On December 10, 1946, Lorraine married Roy Groteluschen at Zion Lutheran Church in Leigh, Nebraska. The couple made their home on a farm north of Columbus. She enjoyed sewing, flowers, gardening, and baking. Lorraine was an active member of the VFW Auxiliary in Creston. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church where she helped clean the church for many years.
