Services for Ruth "Aunt Wee" Recane, 92, of Palestine were officiated with Revs. Theo Johnson, Bud Magee and Wayne Frazier at Montalba Baptist Church. Mrs. Recane died at Sterling House. She was born to George Washington Ward and Effie Harding Ward. Mrs. Recane was a homemaker. She was a member of the Montalba Baptist Church, the Red Hatters and Montalba Quilting Club. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lawrence Recane in 1992 and eight brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Bauer and husband Steven of Palestine; sons, Marion Recane and wife Helen of Houston and David Recane of Memphis, Tenn.; grandchildren, Mandy Vitek, David Recane, Spenser Bauer and Ethan Bauer; two great grancchildren, Ava Vitek and Method Vitek.
