RONALD JOSEPH KREBS: Newspaper Obituary and Death Notice Gainesville Daily Register (TX) - Friday, February 16, 2007 Deceased Name: RONALD JOSEPH KREBS LINDSAY -- Services for Ronald Joseph Krebs, 60, of Lindsay are set for 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Pat Murphy, O.S.A. officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery in Lindsay under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home of Gainesville. Mr. Krebs died Feb. 14, 2007, at his residence, surrounded by his devoted family. Ronald was born November 24, 1946, to Henry and Amelia Dulock Krebs. He graduated from Lindsay High School in 1964 and entered the U.S. Army in June of the following year. He served for a year in Vietnam where he received the Army Commendation Medal for meritorious service as an artilleryman. Ronald married Sharon Bauer on June 27, 1970. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, gardening and keeping his vehicles in perfect shape. Ron was a guitarist with St. Mary's "One Voice" choir and loved to practice and play with the group. He was a loving father and grandfather who was often referred to as "feisty Pawpaw." Ron was a longtime employee of Weber Aircraft. Ron was first diagnosed with brain cancer in 1994 and suffered a recurrence in 2004. He had been on chemotherapy for the past two and a half years. He faced the diagnoses and treatments with courage and faith in God. After 1994, Ron and Sharon traveled as much as possible and recently enjoyed a Hawaiian cruise over the Christmas holidays. He was our anchor and will be sorely missed. Survivors include his wife, Sharon Krebs of Lindsay; daughters and sons-in-law, Bethany and Patrick Schully, and Courtney and Fred Hughes; grandchildren, Austin, Andrew and Corinn Schully and Avery and Tess Hughes; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Werner Becker Jr.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Milton and Patsy Krebs and Kenny and Barbara Krebs; parents-in-law, Robert and Ann Bauer; and 18 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Pallbearers are Stephen Becker, Michael Becker, John Krebs, Brent Krebs, T.J. Krebs, Brandon Bauer, Randy Howard, and Elmo Self. Honorary pallbearers are Wayne Becker, Werner Becker III, Eddie Krebs, James Krebs and Jeffrey Krebs. A Wake service will be held at 7 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church today. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Brain Tumor Research Fund at Baylor Health Care System Foundation; Attn: Jana Sharpley, Neuro-Oncology Fund; 3600 Gaston Avenue, Suite 100; Dallas, TX 75246.
