*** IN LOVING MEMORY OF **** Mildred K. (Miller) Finnegan was born Friday; January 24, 1919 in Geneva, Nebraska to Ross and Gertrude (Sughrue) Miller. She was a 1936 graduate of Geneva High School. She received her advanced education at Peru State College in Nebraska where she earned a teaching certificate, and then a business certificate at the University of Nebraska. She taught school for five years earning an "Outstanding Teaching Award". During World War II, she was employed in the Department of Commerce in Washington, DC. After the war, she returned to Lincoln to continue her education. On September 13, 1947, she was married to Eugene W. Finnegan at St. Helena's Catholic Church in Grafton, Nebraska. In 1949, they moved to Ames, Iowa. She was a 50+ year member and past regent of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, life member of the American Legion Auxiliary, St. Gertrude Circle, and Rosary Club. Mildred K. (Miller) Finnegan, age: 94, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 in Ames; Story County, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her husband: Eugene. Her one son: Jerry; her one daughter: Donna; one sister; two brothers and her parents.
