Bio

John Dudley Goodson's parents are unknown. He first married Susan Ann Mount about 1887, probably in Hamilton Co., Tennessee, where their first child was born. They soon moved to DeKalb Co., Alabama. They had nine known children: Charles Walker, Harry Thomas, Robert L., Benjamin Alexander, Acie Jackson, Mamie C., William Bryan, Basil, and Otis T. After Ann died after 1900, he married Catherine Gooden about 1907. She was the widow of Benjamin E. Hawkins. They moved to Sale Creek, Hamilton Co., Tennessee, by 1910. John was a farmer and a coal miner.
