Bio
Joe H. Kotrla, age 77, of Rt. 3, Temple died Tuesday morning [January 3, 1961] in a Temple hospital. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. in Seton Brethren Church, Rev. F.J. Kostohryz officiated with burial in Seaton Cemetery. Mr. Kotrla was born in Fayette County to Jan and Mary Machalec Kotrla. He had lived in the Oscar community near Temple since 1920. He was a retired farmer and was a member of the SPJST Lodge No. 47. Survivors are six daughters, Mrs. F.C. Motl, Mrs. Ed Motl, Mrs. Joe V. Kabella, Mrs. Ed Pechal and Mrs. Joe W. Pechal, all of Temple, and Mrs. Charles Bravenec of Rogers; two sons, Harry Kotrla and William Kotrla, both of Temple; a brother, Henry Kotrla of Taylor; two sisters, Mrs. Vera Martinek of Ellinger and Mrs. Lewis Samohyl of Austin; 21 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
