Delores M. "Dee" (Smith) Cook Bohuslavsky, daughter of John Carl and Mary Leona (Thompson) Smith, was born February 26, 1923, at Olds, Alberta, Canada. Dee died Thursday, July 11, 2013, at Stanton Health Center in Stanton, Nebraska. As a young girl, Dee and her family moved to Norfolk, Nebraska, where she attended school and later graduated from Norfolk (NE.) High School. On December 5, 1943, she was married to Frank J. "Pat" Cook at Sikeston, Missouri. The couple was blessed with a daughter, Terry Lea. After Pat's death in 1963, Dee later married Emil J. "Shorty" Bohuslavsky on June 4, 1967, in Fremont, Nebraska. From this marriage, Dee was blessed with a step-daughter, Connie Marie. During her lifetime, Dee lived in several places, including Olds, Alberta, Canada; Sikeston, Missouri; Fremont, Nebraska; David City, Nebraska; and Norfolk, Nebraska. Besides being a mother and a wife, Dee owned and operated a movie theatre, worked as a sales associate with J.C. Penney, and later was a small business entrepreneur. She was a member of the First Congregational Church, Fremont, Nebraska and also attended the First Presbyterian Church, Norfolk, Nebraska. Dee served on the Butler County Election Board for many years and was involved with the Nebraska and National Rural Letter Carriers' Auxiliary. She was also a member of the ladies auxiliaries of the VFW and American Legion. Dee is survived by: daughters, Terry Butterfield of Omaha, Nebraska and Connie Marie Mathine of Tilden, Nebraska; son-in-law, Larry Mathine of Tilden, Nebraska; granddaughter, Michelle Mathine of Omaha, Nebraska; sister, Elaine M. Jeffrey of Norfolk, Nebraska and a host of family and friends. Dee was preceded in death by: parents; sisters, Eva Mae Langemeier and Mary Lou Schick and husbands, Frank "Pat" Cook and Emil "Shorty" Bohuslavsky. Graveside services were at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, David City, Nebraska.
