He died on May 12 1988 in Madison,Boone County West Virginia. The cause of death was Cancer. He was buried on May 15 1988 in Green Cemetary Boone County West Virginia. Coal Miner in Boone County West Virginia for many years. He was elected in crook dist, Boone County West Virginia as a constable in 1968 and seved until 1976. 1976- 1988 he was a Boone County Deputy Sheriff, he was the training officer for new Deputy Sheriff's in Boone County West Virginia. He was President of the Boone County Deputy Sheriff Association in the mid 1980's, he worked his way to the rank of Sgt in the Sheriff's dept, at the time of his death he was the chief jailer in the Boone County Sheriff's dept. Jack married June Bailey daughter of Lonnie Bailey and Nellie M. Green. June was born in Boone County West Virginia. They had the following children: i. Sherry McCarty was born in Boone County West Virginia. ii. Ludell McCarty was born in Boone County West Virginia. Ludell married Gail Ball daughter of Floyd E. Ball and Arcella Marie Dent.
