Bio

Mary Lou died July 3, 2013 in Temple. She was born in Neosho Falls, Kansas on July 13, 1919 to Samuel and Mary Tidd Faidley. After graduation from the local high school, Mary Lou went to Emporia College. She married Woodrow W. Hunter January 21, 1940 in McAllen. She spent over 50 years in the abstract and title business, principally as an abstractor doing title work. She lived in Edinburg, Alice, and moved to Stillhouse Reservoir in 1971. She and her husband owned the Fisherman's Haven, a bait, grocery and mobile home park which they bought. In 1984, they retired and moved to Salado. Mary Lou was a devoted bingo player. She was known to travel to Oklahoma and other areas around the country just to enjoy her pastime. When not playing bingo, she loved to quilt and was a very accomplished bowler. Mary Lou was a member of the Salado United Methodist Church for many hears, serving on a variety of committees including the United Methodist Women's Group. Mary Lou is preceded in death by her father, mother and husband, as well as, a brother, Morris and a sister, Dorothy. Survivors include 2 children, Joyce Barker of Salado and Bill Hunter of Temple, 4 sisters; Aileen, Ada Ruth, Lyla Jene and Lois and 1 brother, Deane. She has 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
