Bio

John Edward Hester of Mc Dade, Tex., passed away Sunday, May 1, 2005, at the age of 93. Mr. Hester was born in Round Rock, Tex., on May 8, 1911. He lived in Round Rock for many years. He served in the U.S. Navy. John worked 28 years with HEB Grocery Co., with most of the years spent working at Allandale Shopping Center. After retiring, he and Dolly moved to the farm in McDade. John loved caring for the farm, especially his chickens and cows. He attended Knobs Spring Baptist Church in McDade, Tex. He is preceded in death by daughter, Nancie Schoenfeld, granddaughter, Della Graham; great-granddaughter, Barbara Graham; twin grandsons, Robert Harper and William Harper; six brothers and six sisters. John is survived by his wife of 37 years, Dolly; son, John Paul Hester and wife Alice; daughters, Emma Lee Harper, Ada Piper, Mary Urban and husband, Eldore; stepsons, Jerry Buck and Jackie Buck; 27 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Celestine Hester and Ethel Hester, and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. Pallbearers honoring Mr. Hester will include Brandon Buck, Bradley Buck, Colt Toleman, Jimmy Maddox, Chuck Schoenfeld and John Michael Hester. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 3, 2005 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Tex. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 4, 2005 in the Memorial Chapel of Cook- Walden /Capital Parks Funeral Home with Pastor Gaery McManus officiating.
