BIO: Samuel Gann (Jr) was born probably about 1799 in Jackson/Clarke County, Georgia, to Samuel Gann and Mary (Hambrick) Gann . He and his siblings lived close to their grandparents, Ignatious Nathaniel "Nathan" Gann and Mary (Abel) Gann in Greene and Hancock counties and later in Clarke County when the extended Gann family relocated in 1797. His mother, Mary (Hambrick) Gann, a widow sometime before 1820, was enumerated head of household in the 1820 census. Samuel married Sarah "Sallie" Lee, daughter of Wyatt Lee and his second wife, Dolly (Grant) Lee , on December 3, 1821, in Clarke County, Georgia. They lived near her family in Clarke County south of Athens, near the town of Watkinsville that in 1875 was taken into Oconee County. Sarah's name is found as a member of the Mars Hill Baptist Church in an old minutes book of the church. Children: 1. Juliann Gann Gann 1818- (m. Robert "Robin" Gann, GA) 2. Martha Gann Luke 1822- (m.
