Bio
Gustie R. Franta, 99 of Wahoo, entered into eternal rest on Friday, June 21, 2013 at the Saunders Medical Center LTC in Wahoo. Gustie was born January 23, 1914 in Prague, NE to Joseph and Jessie Mach. She was a member of the Prague Presbyterian Church. She attended District #84 country school and Prague High School, where she finished 9th grade and then stayed home to help with farm work. She married Louis A. Franta on June 24, 1937. They farmed by Prague for many years and then they moved to Weston, NE. She worked at Campbell's Soup in Fremont for several years and also worked at Gerry's Café in Wahoo. Gustie's pride and joy were her family, making quilts, baking, especially kolaches, raising a big garden and canning the vegetables. She loved planting different flowers and watching them grow. Gustie was a member of the Nite Owls Club in Weston for many years. She was a 75 year member of ZCBJ Lodge #29. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis; parents; brother, Ernest; sister, Christine; son-in-law, Ray Stoupa. She is survived by daughters, Elaine Stoupa of Wahoo and Bonnie (Norris) Fujan of Lincoln; grandchildren, Ray (Kay) Stoupa, Bob Stoupa, Jessie (Justin) Hansen, all of Omaha, Ron (Chandra) Stoupa of Wilmington, DE, Justin Fujan of Lincoln; great-grandchildren, Samantha and Alex Stoupa of Omaha, Brooke and Sara Stoupa of Delaware; brothers, Elmer and Emil Mach of Wahoo; sister, Libbie Zavodny of Wahoo; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
