Died aft. 1850 and buried on farm near Crawford/Lawrence Co., IL. line. In Chris Bailey's "Highsmiths in America" it is reported that by ca.1976 the then owners had taken all the tombstones for use as weights, destroying all inscriptions. His first wife was Phoebe H Allison His 2nd wife was Mary Ann (Vernon) Barrick, widow of Henry Barrick.
