Susan married John Shadley on December 18, 1854, in Davis County, Iowa. She and John are shown in the 1880 Census of Wapello County with six children: Son - Daniel B., age 23, born in Nebraska Dau - Lida D., age 20, born in Nebraska Son - John W., age 14, born in Iowa Son - George W., age 14, born in Iowa Son - William H., age 9, born in Iowa Son - Marian A., age 7, born in Iowa Susan did not remarry after her husband died.
