Francis J. Masek, 89, of Odell, NE, passed away Sept. 22, 2009 in Odell. He was born July 29, 1920 at Odell, NE. Survivors include a son, John Masek of Odell; daughters, Jean Potter and husband Dennis, overland Park, KS, Franceen Darwin and husband Bill, Grand Island, NE; 3 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sisters, Lucille Meier, Aurora, NE, and Adelaide Keller and husband Walt, Border, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Clara (Zarybnicky) Masek; wife, Merle, and brother, Cyril. A vigil service will be held Friday, Sept. 25, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at Vance-Gerdes Chapel in Odell. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Odell with Father Dennis hotovy officiating. Burial will be at the Odell Czech Cemetery, Odell.
