OTHA R. "PETE" BOLDMAN, 87, formerly of Coffeyville, Kansas, passed away Saturday evening, June 15, 2013 at Good Samaritan Village in Winfield. Born on July 3, 1925 in Archer, Nebraska, he was the son of Otis and Faye (Drake) Boldman. He was raised and received his education in Hershey, Nebraska and graduated from Hershey High School in 1943. A veteran of World War II, Mr. Boldman proudly served his country in the United States Army. Otha served in the European Theater of Operations as a T5 Corporal and was honorably discharged on April 12, 1946. Otha spent 55 years in the retail building materials business first in Fort Collins, Colorado and then transferred to Everett Lumber Company in Winfield. He met and was united in marriage to Donzella Harrod in 1966. The couple co-managed the Benson Lumber Company in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma for 28 years before retiring in 1992. Mrs. Boldman preceded him in death in March of 2011. Otha moved to Winfield in December of 2012. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Coffeyville and served as Chairman of the Trustees and Deacons many years. He was a master woodworker. His family includes: His stepson: Rodney Harrod and wife Treva of Winfield, KS; His step-daughter: Rogene Robbins and husband Bob of Omaha, NE; His 2 step-grandsons: Eric Harrod and wife Lisa and Todd Harrod and wife Jamie all of Winfield, KS; and His step great-granddaughter: Amanda Harrod. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, June 24, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Coffeyville. Private inurnment will be at the Grace Lawn Cemetery in Howard, Kansas. A memorial has been established in Otha's name for the First Baptist Church in Coffeyville. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
