Biographical Sketch by Rev. Dr. Edward J Chapuran Anton J Tusa was born at Verdigre, Nebraska, in 1881. His parents moved to Jackson, Minnesota, where he lived until 1899, when he moved to Omaha to attend a business college. After leaving college he worked for the Cudahy Packing Company for several years, and in 1913 was appointed State Food and Oil Inspector by Governor John H Morehead and then, when Keith Neville was elected Governor, he was reappointed. On January 4, 1919 he became an insurance salesman for the Travelers Insurance Company, where he distinguished himself by being third in the United States in a selling contest and again in 1924 won a trip to the company's convention held in Quebec, Canada. Governor Charles W Bryan, in December, 1934 appointed him Election Commissioner for Douglas County. He was reappointed by Governor Roy I.
