Son of D. B. Smith. Obituary Walter Scott Smith was born April 15, 1885 at Mill Creek, Indian Territory. He passed away March 17, at Allen Memorial hospital, El Dorado, Kansas at the age of 62 years, 11 months. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. D. B. Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. He was united in marriage to Mary Lake, July 27, 1913. In later years he was initiated an entered apprentice, passed to the degree of fellowcraft and raised to the Sublime degree of Master Mason in Wesley lodge No. 407 of Mustang. Later he transferred to Douglass, Kansas lodge No.151 of which he served as worshipful master. He is survived by his wife Mary, one brother, B. B. Smith of Oklahoma City, also five nephews and 14 nieces and many other relatives and friends. At the conclusion of services at the Turner funeral home, Yukon lodge No 90 A. F. & A. M. in accordance with a request by Douglass lodge No. 151 of Douglass, Kansas, took charge of Bro. Smith's earthly remains. His body was accompanied to Yukon cemetery, where Yukon lodge No. 90 exemplified the beautiful burial rites of Free Masonry. Howard G. Taylor, past master and secretary of Yukon lodge delivered the funeral oration and completed the service. The following Masonic brothers of Mr. Smith served as active pallbearers: Walter Grant and L. H. Sanders of Wesley Lodge No. 407, Mustang; G. A. Vansant and Ernest E. Goodwin of Chautauqua loge No. 355, Cedar Vale, Kansas; Frank Hanska and Hubert Smrcka of Yukon lodge No. 90, Yukon. The honorary pallbearers were: Gene D. Boatman, J. E. Tighe, G. C. Zimmerman, Paul E. Wesley, F. M. Mattox and Harry E. Jones of El Dorado Kans. "He has drawn his plans, and executed his designs."
