AURORA — Glen D. Friesen, 70, of Aurora died Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at his home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hampton. Burial will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora is in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Friesen was born Dec. 7, 1942, in Aurora to Peter E. and Lucille (Pankratz) Friesen. He married Virgene Wright in 1962. Survivors of the immediate family include a daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Mitch Lane of Fullerton; a son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Jenny Friesen of Hampton; and three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Treva Rosenthal of Florida, Pam and Rick Oetken of Iowa and Audrey and Paul Janzen of Henderson. Additional survivors include three grandchildren, Riley and Caitlin Lane of Fullerton and Courtney Friesen of Hampton; and many nieces and nephews Glen grew up on farms in the Henderson and Aurora area. He graduated from Aurora High School. Glen spent his entire career farming. He farmed south of Aurora for 50-plus years. Glen was known for planting the straightest rows before GPS. Glen loved working on puzzles, taking lots of pictures, attending his grandchildren events and games and collecting toy tractors. He was a member of the Rural Fire Department Board for many years. Glen was a devoted father and grandfather never forgetting a birthday or anniversary with a beautiful card. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law. Glen grew up on farms in the Henderson and Aurora area. He graduated from Aurora High School. In 1962, Glen was married to Virgene Wright. Two children were born to this union: Angie and Chris.
