Grand Island (Nebraska) Herald; Thurs., 8 March 1928, page 1 Wahoo - Mrs. Ed Cernik, 27, living on a farm two miles from Wahoo, died at 5 a.m. Sunday as the result of burns. She had tried to hurry a fire by use of kerosene about 6 p.m. Saturday. A woolen sweater ignited from an explosion, and she ran from the house. Mr. Cernik put out the flames but not in time to avoid fatal injury. She had apparently inhaled some of the flames.
