Smith Services to Be Held Tuesday SHERMAN - Mrs. James Ernest Smith, 76, died in a Sherman nursing home at 6:30 a.m. Monday, May 28, 1973. She had been bedfast since being paralyzed after a fall in August 1971. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in Earnheart Funeral chapel with the Rev. Dale Gore of Sherman and the Rev. Douglas Rymer of Whitewright, Baptist ministers, officiated. Burial was in the City cemetery. Mrs. Smith, a former resident of Whitewright, was born Nov. 16, 1899, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Painter. She was married to Mr. Smith April 5, 1923, at Whitewright. She was a member of the First Baptist church of Sherman. Survivors are one son, Gerald Dean Smith of Sherman; one daughter, Mrs. Connie Cassidy of Sherman; two sisters, Mrs. Velma Sadler and Mrs. Grady McCorstin, both of Whitewright and four grandchildren.
