Son of Taylor and Delna Gossett Fugitt, he was married, a clean-up man at a lumber mill, lived at 256 24th Ave, Longview, died in St. John's Hospital of renal failure and prostate hypertrophy, per death certificate 11909, whose informant was Mrs. Nancy Ethel Fugitt. Buried Jul 13 1954. Longview Daily News, Monday, Jul 12 1954: James Nathan Fugitt, 60, 256 24th Ave, Longview, died July 10 in a local hospital. He was born May 10, 1894, in Murfreesboro, AR. He came to Longview in 1947, worked at Long-Bell Lumber Co., was a member of the IWA Local 5-36, and of the First Christian Church of Murfreesboro. Surviving are his wife, Nancy Ethel; two sons, Harold and Jimmie Fugutt of Longview; a daughter, Mrs. Lorene Cox of Yuma, AZ; 4 grandchildren; three brothers, Monroe Fugitt of Longview; and Will and Charlie of Murfreesboro; and a sister, Mrs. Martha Ellis of Bogoto, TX. Services will be at 2:30 pm Tuesday at Steele Chapel with Rev. James Frost officiating. Interment will be in Longview Memorial Park.
