Obituary: SYBIL EUBANKS SMITH, 78, of Houston, Texas, passed away Sunday June 12, 2005. Born in Center, Texas on October 26, 1927 the daughter of the late Luther and Hester Eubanks of Silsbee, Texas. Preceded in death by her husband, Elton G. Smith; son, Van L. Smith; sister, Billie Steinbach; brother, O'Neil Eubanks. Longtime resident of Silsbee and Beaumont, Texas, and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Sybil was retired from Southwestern Bell and for many years owned and operated Smith Distributors. Survived by her sisters, Earlene Walker of Dana Point, California and Shirley Eubanks of Houston. Loving nieces and nephews include Kathy Thorson, Ron Walker, Jeremy Thorson, Chris Campbell, Nick Campbell, Ben Campbell, Ashley Walker and Kyle Walker. Graveside service will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday June 15, 2005 at Memorial Oaks Cemetery with Rev. M. Eugene Vickrey officiating. Published by Houston Chronicle on Jun. 15, 2005.
