Bio
On November 27, 2006, Lois C. Young, 92, was taken into the hands of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 30, 2006, at Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in DeRidder with the Rev. Dalton Isbell and the Rev. Eddie Tilley officiating. Burial will follow in Whitaker Cemetery in DeRidder under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home. Mrs. Young was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Young, one Son Winfred Cooley and grandson Junior Northcutt. Left behind to cherish and rejoice in her memory are one daughter, Trellis Havens; two sisters, Lubbie McCurley and Dovie Nichols; one brother, Dude Hickman; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Young had the glory in her life to not only give all her love to her daughter, but to be able to share it with many foster children. To name them all would be impossible, but to name those who still called her mother and stayed to the sweetest end are Betty Brown and husband Thomas, Louise Reeves and husband Harmon, John Curtis and wife Priscilla; and Alfred Daily and wife Shirley. She was a native and lifelong resident of DeRidder. She was a homemaker and a member of Shady Grove United Pentecostal Church. Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder.
