Margaret Peterson Allred CENTENARIAN 1913 - 2013 Early Life: Margaret was born October 15, 1913, in Lehi, Utah, to John and Margaret M. Larsen Peterson. She was named for her mother who passed away shortly after she was born. Her father later married Elizabeth Briggs who was a loving mother to her. Margaret graduated from Lehi High School and seminary in 1932. Life's Work | Service | Interests: On September 8, 1938, Margaret married high school sweetheart, Aaron Fullmer Allred, in the Salt Lake Temple. They spent the first years of their marriage serving an agricultural mission in Washakie, Utah. Eventually they settled in Brigham City and raised a family. They later lived in Salt Lake City and Orem, Utah. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served as a temple work, genealogy, and many callings. She was a devoted mother who required little for herself and worked part-time as a school lunch cook to help support her three sons as they served missions. Margaret loved to travel, saw many places in the world. She also loved to have "parties" and looked for any reason to gather her family around her. Her children and grandchildren looked forward to her Christmas and Easter celebrations where she made sure everyone felt her love. In her later years Margaret was committed to weekly temple service and provided names so that over 1700 ordinances could be performed for her ancestors. Margaret was generous, selfless and loved by all who knew her. She desired little in the way of earthly possessions. Her greatest treasures were children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered for her loving ways and her wonderful example of faith and service. Margaret Peterson Allred passed away just five months short of her 100th birthday. Survived By: Her sons: Keith A. (Cheryl), South Ogden, UT; Clyde J. (LaDean), Riverton, UT; James F. (Lori) Murray, UT; son-in-law, Paul Munns (Jane), Elwood, UT; 17 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren. Preceded In Death By: Her husband; daughter, Meg Munns; and infant son, Kent.
