Bio
Services for Gwen Patterson, 74, of Lubbock and formerly of Slaton will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Sep. 16, 2010 in Englunds Chapel, with Rev. Steve Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Englewood Cemetery under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton. Gwen passed away Sep. 13, 2010 in Lubbock. She was born on July 29, 1936 in Higgins, Texas. Gwen graduated from Slaton High School in 1954. She married Harley G. "Pat" Patterson on Nov. 29, 1955 in Slaton. Pat preceded her in death on Oct. 10, 2004. She was a homemaker and member of First United Methodist Church and Eastern Star. Gwen was also preceded in death by her son, Don Patterson, on Nov. 14, 1981. Gwen is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Rieger; granddaughters, Alicia McDonald and Briana Pitifer, all of Lubbock; brothers, Harold Fox of Dayton, Ohio and LaVaun Fox of Bullard, Texas; along with three great-grandchildren.
