Bio

Katrine Schwynoch, 97, of Salem died Tuesday. She was born in Schuyler, Neb., and taught school when she was 16. Later she was a school district administrative secretary and worked in a dry goods store in Denver, Colo. She worked in local Salem businesses during World War II. Her husband, Paul, died in 1987. She enjoyed flowers. Survivors include her son, Jean of West Salem and Bakersfield, Calif.; and one grandchild. Services will be private, and interment will be at Restlawn Memory Gardens.
