Osantowski Funeral services were conducted at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Dec. 13 for James Peter Osantowski, 78, a resident of David City for many years. He died suddenly at his home on Dec. 8. The Rev. George Stoeckinger was in charge of services. Grandsons and nephews serving as pallbearers were Gerald Ray, and Ed, Ernie, Francis, Ben and Henry Osantowski. Burial was in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Mr. Osantowski, son of Alex and Mary Osantowksi, was born Feb. 22, 1882, at Elyria. On Feb. 15, 1905, he was married to Rose Dembouski at Ashton. Nine children were born to them. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose, four infant sons, and a brother, Frank Osantowksi. Survivors include two sons, Ed of Bellwood and Harold, stationed in Germany with the Air Force; three daughters, Mrs. Frank (Victoria) Wilson, Rising City; Mrs. Ralph (Doris) Ray and Mrs. Frank, Jr. (Dorothy) Houska, David City; seven sisters; and three brothers, Ted and John in California and Zigmund of Ulysses. Relatives and friends attending the service were from Loup City, St. Paul, Omaha, Kearney, Genoa, Ulysses and Shelby and Denver, Colo.
