The Ord Quiz - December 29, 1927 JOHN RYBIN DIES AT AGE OF 82 yEARS Well Known Prominent in Bohemian Activities Dies After Short Illness John Rybin 82 years old the 11th of Oct, died at his home in Ord, Wednesday afternoon, Dec 28, 1927. Mr Rybin came to the U.S. from Bohemia in 1867, locating first in Jones County Iowa. He was married there & came to Omaha in June 1878 and the same Fall he came to Valley county arriving on the 11th of Oct and to a homestead in Geranium township. He moved to Ord 15 or 20 years ago and this has been his home since. Two daughters by his first marriage are Mrs Josie Williams of Ames Iowa and Mrs Frances Dworak of Comstock. Four children were born of his second marriage and they are Frank and James, Mary and Mrs Warren Lincoln all of this community and the mother are left to mourn the going of a good husband and father. The funeral will be held from the National Hall in Ord, Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. I the passing of John Rybin another of the Ord settlers is gone. He was one of the most prominent and well known among the Bohemian people who helped to make this the splendid community that it is.
