Published in the Ord Quiz, Ord, Nebraska, Thursday, June 2, 1966, Page 8, Column 1 John Pipal Dies At Burwell On May 29; Services Wednesday John E. Pipal, 72, died Sunday, May 29, 1966 in the Community Memorial Hospital at Burwell after suffering a heart attack. He was the father of Mrs. James Duda who resides at Ord. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 pm at the Congregational Church at Burwell with burial following at the Ord Bohemian Cemetery. John Edward Pipal was born June 17, 1894, at Omaha, to Joseph and Anna Pipal. He moved to Garfield County with his parents at an early age. On March 10, 1920, he was united in marriage to Marie Howell and continued to reside in the Burwell vicinity until his death. To this union was born one son Stanley and one daughter Ruth. Survivors include his wife, Marie; son, Stanley of Colorado Springs, Colo; daughter, Mrs. James Duda, of Ord; one granddaughter of Columbia, S.C.; sisters Emalee and Lillian Pipal of Yuculpa, Calif., brothers, Joe of Burwell and Frank of Omaha. Preceding him in death were his parents, one sister, and granddaughter, Betsy.
