From Salt Lake Tribune (Salt Lake City, UT) - March 30, 2003: Jerry Albert Duffin - Good Friend to All Jerry Albert Duffin, 63, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away Friday, March 28th, 2003 due to complications from surgery. Jerry was born in American Falls, Idaho on March 31, 1939. Jerry loved the Lord and always tried to serve Him. He served an LDS mission in the North Central States Mission. He served in various capacities in the Church, including bishop, high councilman, and Stake Executive Secretary. He was very service oriented and was active in the Bonneville Kiwanis Club. Jerry was dedicated to his family and loved them dearly. He married Sheran Novak on Sept 3, 1964, in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they have six children and eight grandchildren. Jerry graduated from Brigham Young University in Business & Finance and worked in banking for 30 years. After he retired from First Security Bank in 1996, he began a new career in Commercial Real Estate. He is survived by his wife, Sheran Novak; and six children: Jeri Lynne (Chris) Lloyd, Jon (Jennifer), Scott (Tania), Shana (Jason) Stubblefield, Janell, Susanne; eight grandchildren; sisters: Joyce Kress (Vard) Dalley, Carol (Weldon) Poulson, Joan Line. Preceded in death by parents, James Albert and Thelma Duffin. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 1, 2003, 11 a.m., Brownstone Chapel, 6410 S. 725 E. Friends may call Monday, March 31 at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State St. from 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday 10-10:45 a.m. at the church. Entombment, Murray City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society or the LDS Church Perpetual Education Fund.
