M.W. RENAUD passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2007 in Houston, Texas. He was born to Elizabeth and Arthur J. Renaud in Ft. Worth, Texas on February 7, 1935. He came to Houston at an early age and attended Holy Rosary Parochial School, St. Thomas High School, Victoria College, The University of St. Thomas and was a graduate of the University of Houston. He was the proud descendent of Revolutionary War hero Lieut. Pierre Borel who died defending Fort Charlotte against the British in 1780. He spent 50 years in the oil business as a petroleum landman and was a member of Petroleum Landsman's Association, St. Thomas Alumni Association and The Sons of the American Revolution. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son John Renaud, his sister Jane Chapman, his brother A.J. Renaud, Jr., and his niece Kaye Renaud Sands. He is survived by his wife, Carol; his son, Michael Walker Renaud, Jr.; his granddaughter, Susan Elizabeth Renaud; his sisters-in-law, Jane DuCote of Swansboro, N. Carolina, Carol Elmore Renaud of Stafford, Texas, Kathleen Nollkamper and husband Dalton and Cynthia Kocian and husband, A. Richard, both of Victoria, Texas; nieces; nephews and other relatives and friends. A memorial service in his honor will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2007 in the Founder's Chapel of Grace Presbyterian Church, 10221 Ella Lee Lane, Houston, Texas 77042, with The Rev. Dr. Michael L. Fry officiating. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make contributions in his memory to Grace Presbyterian Church or St. Thomas High School Annual Fund, 4500 Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77007.
