Bio

Pete J. Focht was born January 3, 1881 at Sidney, Iowa and passed away February 20, 1947, age 66 years, 1 month and 17 days. He came to Oklahoma in 1904 and homesteaded where he lived the rest of his life. Two sisters preceded him in death. Survivors include two sisters and four brothers. They are Cora Hall, Almena, Kansas; Lee Focht, Bayard, Nebraska; Amanda Earhart, Fort Dodge, Iowa; Beecher Focht and Glen Focht, both of Durham, Oklahoma and Joe Focht, address unknown. Services were conducted Saturday at the Baptist Church at Durham with Rev. R.K. Whitaker officiating. He was laid to rest in the Bellview cemetery, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of the Tunnard Funeral Home. (Cheyenne Star Feb. 27, 1947)
