Mary Evans ANNA - Services for Mary Evans, 83, of Anna will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Calvary Baptist Church in Anna with Dr. Raymond Horne officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 -8 p.m. on Wednesday at Scoggins Funeral Home in Van Alstyne. Mrs. Evans passed away Monday, May 13, 2013 at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital-WNJ. She was born Aug. 24, 1929 in Van Alstyne to Arthur and Belie Green Harris. She married Virgil Evens Jan. 26, 1946 in Van Alstyne. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She served as manager of the Anna SNAP Center for 13 years and was a homemaker. Mary was a devoted wife and mother. She is survived by her husband, Virgil Evans of Anna; son, Roy Dean Evans and wife Ann of Royce City; daughters, Linda Brown and her husband Ronny of Anna, and Mary Rollins of Anna; sister, Nelda Jean Ragsdill of Waco; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; son, Timmy Evans; grandson Brad Evans; sisters, Lillian Burk, Helen Taylor, Dorothy Young, Ruby Hughes and Irene Harris; two brothers, Jack and Roy Harris.
