Bio

Services for Keith Price, 83, of Slaton will be 11 a.m. Friday at Englunds Chapel with the Rev. Steve Martin, pastor of Westview Baptist Church, officiating. Services are under direction of Englunds Funeral Service. He died at Lubbock Hospitality House on Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000. He was born Feb. 8, 1916, at Brownwood. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Dorothy Mae Reed on Dec. 24, 1938. She died Aug. 7, 1995. He moved to Slaton from Dallas in 1946. He retired as an engineer with the Santa Fe Railroad in 1981. He was active in veterans organizations, was a lifetime member of the Slaton VFW Post 6721 and served several terms as post commander. He was also a member and leader of various other veterans groups. Survivors include three daughters, Jeanette Dennis of Hilton Head, S.C., Doris Vayner of Hurst and Kathie Taylor of Columbus, Miss; two brothers, Merle Price and Curtis Price, both of Brownwood; a sister, Myrtle Mobley of Stephenville; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
